As nonprofits and community organizations face growing challenges, it is more crucial than ever to build organizations where “Belonging” is prioritized. For the individual, belonging is a sense that you are part of something greater than yourself that you value, and the organizations you are a part of see you, need you, and value your contributions. For organizations, belonging leads to deeper engagement, adaptability, and building a more resilient organization that is better positioned to achieve its mission.

This 6-week course will begin on Wednesday, January 17, 2024, and occurs every Wednesday at 11:00am-12:30pm through February 21. Through this course, participants will:

• Gain a greater understanding of their own social identity and how social identity impacts “Belonging” through individual reflection and group discussion.  
• Gain the processes and tools necessary to measure and build “Belonging” within their own organization.
• Gain a greater understanding of levels within systems to overcome resistance to change.

The course is delivered virtually using Zoom and online course software called Canvas. 

• Virtual Live Sessions – Wednesdays (1/17, 1/24, 1/31, 2/7, 2/14 and 2/21) from 11:00am-12:30pm. 
• OPTIONAL Virtual Office Hours – Mondays (1/15, 1/22, 1/29, 2/5, 2/12 and 2/19) from 11:00am-12:00pm. This time is held for participants to work on course assignments, ask questions of course facilitators, and connect with other participants.

After registering you will be emailed an invoice with instructions for paying for the course via check or credit card. The $75 fee includes registration for up to two members of your organization. (If your organization has limited funds please email wncl@extension.wisc.edu requesting a discounted registration fee.) 

Once your payment is received you will be sent calendar invitations for each session that will include the Zoom connection link.
