National 4-H Week is coming up October 1-7 and this is a great time to promote 4-H and the opportunities in the 4-H program.
Fun countywide 4-H activities to celebrate National 4-H Week include:
- Waupaca County 4-H Bake Sale taking place at Tractor Supply in New London on Saturday, October 7 from 9:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. Families are invited to provide some baked goods and encourage people to attend the bake sale.
- Annual 4-H Pumpkin, Watermelon, Sunflower, and Poster Contest will also be held on Saturday, October 7 at the City Park in Weyauwega. Registration will begin at 12:30 p.m. and go until 1:00, with judging taking place at 1:00 p.m. Pre-registration is requested. You can choose to enter decorated or carved pumpkins, heaviest watermelon, largest sunflower, largest pumpkin (this is entered with a photo of a tape measure around your pumpkin), or a poster promoting 4-H.
- Countywide kickball tournament will be held at Memorial Park on Sunday, October 8 in New London at 1 p.m. Please register ahead.
