Master Gardener “Garden Walk and Art Stroll”

Saturday, June 22, 2019 – Waupaca County Master Gardener “Garden Walk and Art Stroll” & Tour the Danes Hall of Waupaca, a Historical landmark.   Time:   9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.  Sponsored by the Waupaca County Master Gardener Volunteer Association – Waupaca & King Area
Tickets are $10.00 and are available in early June at the Waupaca Area Chamber of Commerce Office, 221 S. Main St., Waupaca, WI 54981, UW Extension Office in the Waupaca Courthouse or in the gardens the day of the event.
Visit Visit our UWEX-Master Gardener web site at or our Waupaca County Master Gardener Face Book page for more details in early June https:/ as we get closer to the date of the event.  Hear about our Master Gardener Events on the radio and also look for Garden Walk posters & flyers.  The six gardens will showcase container gardening, raised beds, organic gardening, vegetable gardens, perennials and nectar producing plants, & heirloom plantings.  Some plants will be sold as well.  Artists from Central Wisconsin are featured in each garden and are encouraged to sell and demonstrate their art throughout the day.

Founded in the 1930’s by Nels Rasmussen.  Gardens built into the side of a hill
terraced off by huge boulders.  Assortment of perennials, annuals, art structures.
2)  Jim Boyer Park/Gardens

Jim Boyer was Mayor of Waupaca in the 1980’s and he and his Council were
responsible for making the property a park for the people.  Assortment of
very colorful perennials and annuals.

The Danes Hall (formerly The Danes Home) situated on the hill at the north
end of Waupaca’s Main St., was designed by famed architect William Water and
built in 1894 for the Danish community of Waupaca as a social gathering place.
Originally the building consisted of a restaurant/coffee shop in the lower level.
With a meeting hall, library, ladies parlor, cloak room, smoking room, and ticket
office on the main floor.  The grand ballroom, surrounded on three sides with
a gallery, is on the upper level.

Perennial gardens, vegetable gardens, sustainable crops grown.
Artists:  What makes our Garden Walk/Art Stroll unique is that we incorporate
artist into each garden location.  Usually we have two or three artist at each site.
These artist range from water color, pastels, pottery, jewelry making, willow
branch furniture making and so on just to name a few.  These artist can sell there
art work as well.
Plant Sale:  This year we will be selling plants at two or three locations
