Waupaca County Welcomes New Community Development Educator

Community Development Educator photoWaupaca County UW-Extension welcomed Jessica Beckendorf as the new Community, Natural Resource, and Economic Development Educator in December. After graduating from Manawa High School, Jessica obtained a bachelor’s degree in Urban and Regional Studies from the University of Wisconsin – Green Bay, and a master’s degree in Communication and Leadership Studies from Gonzaga University. Jessica has dedicated her career to helping communities thrive and is excited to continue this work in Waupaca County.

Jessica’s 15-year career in community development has spanned the spectrum of roles, from geographic information systems, urban and regional planning, to economic development, entrepreneurship, and education. During the next several months, Jessica’s role will be focused on addressing priority areas previously identified by community members, as well as building relationships and partnerships. The identified priority areas are natural resource development, local government development, community development, economic development, and leadership/organizational development.
