Each year farmers in Waupaca County pay land owners an estimated $3 million in rental payments to raise crops on their land, covering 50,000 acres, nearly 25-30% of all cropland in the county.  Farmland rent payment is an important source of income for rural landowners, but it is also a “growing” expense for farmers.  The local survey results will help both farmers and landowners better evaluate the influence of many factors when reviewing or adjusting rental rates for their fields.  Waupaca Co 2011-12 Farmland Rent Survey Final Report (Pdf, 2 pgs)
